Ejecting a Mounted Drive
There is a right and a wrong way to eject a mounted drive. If you do not follow the directions below to properly eject a mounted drive, you could loose documents that are stored on the drive.To properly eject a mounted drive, do one of the following. Click on the drive you want to eject, and then drag it to the trashcan located in your dock.
You may also select Eject from the file menu.
Finally you can press the eject button next to the mounted drive in the sidebar.
Once you have successfully ejected the drive you may unplug it from your computer without loosing any documents on that drive.
