System Preferences - International

The International Preferences allows you to set options that control how Mac OS X works in an environment where the US English language is not the primary language or if you need to have multiple languages used.

To set the preferred language

Click the Language Tab

To set the preferred order for languages to appear in application menus and dialogs, simply drag the languages up or down in the list.

Any changes you make will not take place until you either restart or log in.

To set the date, time and number formats

Click the Formats Tab

Chose an option from the Region popup menu.

To customize the date, time or number format, click the customize button next to each one.

To change the measurement Units, select an option from the menu next to measurement units.

To create and customize an input menu

Click the Input Menu

Turn on the check boxes beside each keyboard layout you want to use. If you have more than one keyboard selected, an Input menu appears on the menu bar.

To switch from language’s keyboard to another, select the language from the Input menu in the menu bar.
